The Old Souls String Band is Zane Thompson and Eli Bedel, two aspiring Old-Time musicians whose passion for the songs and tunes of a different era set them apart from many of their fellow millennials. Drawing heavily from the traditional music of Appalachia and other folk styles their repertoire consists of rollicking fiddle tunes, spirited banjo songs, old ballads from yore and lots of stuff in between.

Eli Bedel hails from the Edge of Appalachia Nature Preserve in rural Adams County, Ohio and Zane splits his time between the West Side of Cincinnati and the farmland around Dillsboro, Indiana. Cincinnati is now their home base. They each bring their own experiences to the music and hope that all who listen are moved to celebrate life. With a deep respect for the musicians of Appalachia they hope to bring Old Time music to the next generation.
